    WHAT'S ON THE BALLOT?

    Initiatives for Social Housing and for our Public Schools:

    • Social Housing: Proposition 1A (submitted by Initiative Petition No. 137) and Proposition 1B (alternative proposed by the Seattle Council and Mayor) concern payroll expense tax funding for the Social Housing Developer.
    • Public Schools: Props 1 and 2 to renew the existing Levies for Seattle Public Schools.

      • Prop 1 (Operations levy) will maintain current educational funding, and will continue high-quality programs that are not state funded or fully funded.

      • Prop 2 (BEX VI) will fund safety and security, energy efficiency projects, construction or renovation at five schools, projects for building systems and major maintenance, and technology and other projects throughout the District.

    January 21, 2025 46th District Democrats Reorganization Meeting

    Hello 46th District Democrats --

    Please join us for the January 21, 2025 46th District Democrats Reorganization Meeting, on Zoom.

    DATE: Tuesday, January 21, 2025
    TIME: 7:00pm (PLEASE log in as early as 6:30pm so that our credentials volunteers can get everyone checked in for an on-time 7pm start. If you log on early, your attention will not be needed again until the meeting is called to order)

    Eligible voters will receive a voting code (for balloted votes only), at the email address provided for their 46th District Democrats membership, the night before the scheduled meeting.     🔵 REVIEW MEMBERSHIP STATUS:

    Memberships expire on January 31 of each year, in accordance with our Standing Rules.

    NOTE: If you were a current member in 2024, rest assured that your membership is still active/current for this month's Reorganization Meeting.

    It is too late for new members, or those who were not members in 2024, to join/rejoin and be eligible to vote at the Reorganization Meeting.

    We will begin our meeting promptly at 7pm and because of time constraints, we will not give our regular 'how to vote' tutorial and will begin voting shortly after calling the meeting to order. Please review the following links before the meeting.

    • Officer Elections for the Executive Board
      • Statutory Officers (Elected by the PCOs)
        • Chair (one)
        • Vice-Chair (one, of different gender than Chair)
        • State Committee Members (two, of differing genders)
        • Representatives to the King County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC) Executive Board (two, of differing genders)
        • Alternates to the KCDCC Executive Board (two)
      • Other Officers (elected by PCOs and General Membership)
        • Secretary (one)
        • Treasurer (one)
        • District Executive Board Members-at-Large (nine)

    The meeting will be chaired by an officer from King County Democrats, through the election of a new chair, after which the new chair may appoint a new parliamentarian, secretary and/or tally chair, and proceed to run the remainder or the elections.

    Only current Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) can vote for the "Statutory Officers" listed above, but both PCOs and current (2024) members can vote for the "Other Officers" listed above. Again, as stated above under "Review Membership Status," 2024 member are still active/current for this month's Reorganization meeting.
