We encourage you to review the candidates' submitted questionnaires: 2018 Questionnaires

For Candidates:

Thank you for your interest in receiving an endorsement from the 46th District Democrats. We endorse in races that are wholly or partly within the 46th Legislative District, which encompasses Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, and northeast Seattle. This includes federal offices which touch upon the 46th District, and all statewide offices.

Unlike many districts who vet candidates by asking them to sit for an endorsement interview, our membership prefers to directly endorse candidates. For the 2018 election cycle, you will need to fill out one of the three (3) questionnaires available at the link, which are the standard county-wide questionnaires from the King County Democrats: https://www.kcdems.org/our-party/endorsements/

Please fill out the questionnaire as though you were being asked questions in a public forum. We post the questionnaires publicly on our district website for the information of our members who will ultimately vote on the endorsement.

Please submit your questionnaire along with your request for endorsement via the 46th LD 2018 Endorsement Request form.

(The above link will submit your questionnaire to chair@46dems.org , fulfilling the stated requirement in the district bylaws.)

Your questionnaire must be received ten calendar days in advance of an Endorsement meeting. Exceptions require a 2/3 vote of members present and voting at an Endorsement meeting. So, to be eligible for consideration at the Sunday, May 20, 2018 Endorsement meeting, you must submit your questionnaire by the end of the day (11:59 PM PDT) on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018.

After submitting your questionnaire, please put Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at 1:00pm, on your calendar. Our endorsement meeting will be held at North Seattle (Community) College. We will post the exact room as soon as we have it.

You may also wish to review our full endorsement procedures ahead of the meeting. There are minor changes from 2017 and 2016.  You will find them here:  2018 46th LD Endorsement Rules
