Please take a moment to read our 2023 Endorsement Rules: 2023 46th District Democrats Endorsement Rules

For the 2023 endorsement process, we will be using the 2023 King County Democrats' (KCDCC) Endorsement Questionnaire, which may be found on the KCDCC endorsements page here:

Please complete the 2023 King County Democrats Questionnairehttps://www.kcdems.org/candidate-questionnaire/

Completed questionnaires must be submitted via the KCDCC website.
KCDCC checks for completed questionnaire and then stores them in a private but shared drive that all LDs and LD endorsements teams have access to. Our Elections Chair will reach out if they are unable to access your finished questionnaire. Completed KCDCC questionnaires are required for candidates to be eligible for the 46th Endorsement.

City, County and Port positions will be considered in May. School Board and judicial positions will be considered in June

Candidates to be considered in May (city and county) must submit the questionnaire by 9:00 am May 20, 2023 for the candidate to be considered. Candidates to be considered in June (school board, judicial) must submit the questionnaire by June 15, 2023.

Endorsement FAQs

When is the 46th's Endorsement meeting?
Our endorsement meeting for candidates for city and county positions will be Sunday, May 21, 2023 starting at 1:00pm. Endorsements for school board and judicial races will be considered on Tuesday, June 20. These will be a Zoom meeting, with the link published 10 days prior to the meeting, on the calendar linked to this website.

If the Endorsement meeting is via Zoom, how do we register?
Closer to the meeting, the link to register will be posted on our home page blog. Both guests and members register at the same link.

What about that candidate questionnaire?
We will be using the King County Democratic Central Committee questionnaire. This should eliminate some work for candidates whose jurisdiction covers multiple legislative districts in 2023. Please be aware, however, that we do post these questionnaires publicly. Your answers should reflect the fact that anyone who reads our website will be able to see them.

Do candidates have to sit for an endorsements committee interview?
No. We are a membership-led organization. For the 2023 election cycle, you will simply need to submit your questionnaire at the link above and attend our endorsement meeting (or send a surrogate).
It would be best if you participate in our candidate forums, as well, but it is not required for endorsement.
Our membership reads your questionnaire, does their own research on you, and we make our endorsement choices as a body.

Thank you for seeking an endorsement from the 46th District Democrats!
