Standing committee chairs are appointed by the District Chair and do not need to be members of the Executive Board. Committee chairs are expected to attend the 46th District Executive Board Meetings and the 46th District General Meeting, as well as any committee-specific meetings identified as part of the work of that committee. Bylaws and Rules Committee
The bylaws and rules committee reviews and proposes updates to the 46th’s bylaws and rules that govern our membership meetings, endorsements, and other regular activities. For more information or if you would like to join this committee, please email rules(at)46dems.org
Code of Conduct Committee
The Code of Conduct Committee shall propose and maintain a code of conduct for the organization, as well as procedures for investigating and addressing code of conduct violations. The committee shall serve as the investigative and hearing body for alleged violations of the 46th’s code of conduct, and is responsible for determining whether the code of conduct has been violated and recommending disciplinary action to the membership for approval. Communications Committee
The Communications Committee works with the executive board to promote district endorsements, resolutions, volunteer opportunities, events, board actions, and initiatives undertaken by the board and following strict adherence to the reporting requirements of Washington’s public disclosure laws. Effective Meetings Committee
The Effective Meetings Committee ensures that the 46th’s meetings run smoothly and efficiently. The committee coordinates with the chair and the Membership Committee to ensure efficient credentialing and tally, and may recommend adoption of standing rules or bylaws to improve meeting effectiveness in conjunction with the Bylaws and Rules Committee. The Effective Meetings Committee is also responsible for coordinating with the King County Democratic Party regarding the biennial reorganization meeting. Elections Committee

Finance Committee

Financial Review Committee

Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee shall determine annual fundraising requirements in conjunction with the Finance Committee, and shall develop and implement fundraising programs and strategies to ensure that the organization has sufficient funds. Membership Committee
The membership committee works to inform members of renewal deadlines and encourages new members to join at each monthly general meeting. Outreach Committee

PCO Support Committee

Policy Committee
The Policy Committee is responsible for developing, and proposing for adoption by the membership, a platform representative of 46th District Democratic voters’ values; reviewing resolutions; and informing or organizing members around policy actions in line with the platform and adopted resolutions. Where possible, the committee shall work in conjunction with and in support of community organizations and elected officials with similar goals. Robert T. Cole Fund Committee
The Robert T. Cole Fund Committee is responsible for sound fiscal management of the Raymond T. Cole bequest, including maximizing the longevity of the usefulness of the fund to the district and ensuring fund investments are consistent with district values. Technology
The Technology Committee is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all technology deployed at meetings, for the technical maintenance of our district website and secretary email tools, for assisting the membership and communications committees with technology needs to ensure a robust email, online and social media presence, and other technology responsibilities as assigned.
