Phonebank for T'wina Nobles Today!

We are mere days away from Election Day on August 4th, and I wanted to remind everyone to take the time to vote. Now, more than ever, we as Democrats stand up for the right to vote. On a day that our president* suggested that the General Election Day be postponed due to unfounded concerns of widespread fraud [not actually a thing], it is important that we in Washington continue to lead the way, exhibiting how an all mail-in system can be done effectively, quickly, and amidst a pandemic, safely. And again for quick reference, here is a link to the candidates we endorsed in this cycle as a handy guide. We have a couple important pieces of information to share.

It took some time to line up an event with T’wina Noble’s team, but we were able to schedule a phonebank this Sunday afternoon @1:30pm. The first 30 minutes will be training and hearing about her candidacy, followed by calls until around 3:30 or so, and the event wraps up with a final debrief from her team. I’ll note that her campaign has a number of phonebanks available between now and Primary Election Day, and you can register for them here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event. If you are interested in learning about the ThruTalk system that her campaign uses for phonebanking, you can learn about it here. Note that we are pointing folks specifically to the Sunday @1:30pm event because we are planning a 46th LD-specific kick-off beforehand at 1:10pm. It is nothing formal, but offers a chance to check-in and say “Hi!” to fellow activist 46-ers, like a parking lot hangout prior to a canvass. You can register for this 46LD drop-in event here.

Finally, I wanted to make sure you were all aware that our next General Meeting is on August 26th @7pm, this month the 4th Wednesday, postponed a week to allow for folks to catch the coverage of (or participate in) the Democratic National Convention. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the online meeting system that we’ve moved to in the time of Coronavirus, so beginning with our August meeting, we are moving to a pre-registration system for event check-in and tying it into a credential system. As before, to maintain secure credentialing, on our end we'll be checking names against our rolls. But note that we’ll be sending out voting credential codes only a couple days prior to the meeting even if you register today.

We are coming down the home stretch before the mad dash to November! Stay focused and stay sharp by putting in the work now that’ll leave you with no regrets on Nov 4th.
