46th LD Blog
Join by 11:59pm TONIGHT, Feb 24 to be eligible to vote at the 2022 Caucus
We hope you are looking forward to the 2022 Mid-Term Legislative District Caucus on Saturday, March 26, starting at 10:00am.
This is a reminder that the hard cut-off for becoming a member of the 46th District Democrats and voting at the 2022 caucus is tonight, Thursday, February 24th, at 11:59pm. The February 24th membership deadline is a state rule for the caucus and convention cycle.
If you are already member of the “old” 46th District for 2022, we will be certain to transfer your membership over to your “new” district – the 43rd, 32nd, 36th, or the 1st – and you will be ready and eligible for your caucus on March 26.
Here is a link to check your new district, using your home address:
https://kingcounty.gov/depts/elections/elections/maps/find-my-districts.aspx
If you aren’t certain which district is yours under the new maps, join us before midnight tonight (Feb. 24), and we will figure it out for you!
We have a number of membership levels for individuals and families, including a $10 living lightly membership. If you are experiencing modest finances during Covid, we also confidentially waive membership dues, but you must contact [email protected] with your request by 11:59pm tonight to be eligible to vote at the caucus.
The caucus will be held safely and virtually via Zoom, and will start at 10:00am on March 26th. The only business of the caucus this year is the election of delegates for the state convention. We will likely have a few appearances by elected officials, as well.
The Platform and Resolutions process for the convention will be a parallel series of meetings in April and May, but is not part of the business of the caucus, under the 2022 Delegate Selection and Affirmative Action Plan – the bi-annual plan for electing convention delegates and conducting caucus and convention business.
More information for those wishing to run for state convention delegate at the caucus will be coming soon.
Hope to see you at the 2022 Caucus!
February 16, 2022 District Meeting - 7:00pm
This is the very last meeting of the 2012-2022 46th District Democrats, before we become the 2022-2032 46th District Democrats, and a night to meet the candidates for the open House seat, as well as several judicial candidates!
Click here to register for the meeting.
The meeting starts at 7:00pm, and we will have a "What happens next?" meet and greet for PCOs, and members of both the "old" 46th, and the "new 46th" at 6:00pm before the meeting.
I hope you will join us, as we celebrate the past, present, and the future of the 46th District Democrats.
Mark your calendars for 7pm - 9:30pm tonight, Wednesday, February 16th! Register Here!
Also, from 6pm - 7:00pm, we will have a meet, greet, and Q&A about the transition from the old district to the new district. The environment and climate caucus has graciously offered their normal time spot for this month - but they will be back! Talks are underway for an expanded ECC caucus to cover several of the northwestern LDs in the future. Everyone welcome! (Same Zoom link)

Reminder: to vote in 2022, you must be either a PCO, or have renewed your membership for 2022. PCOs who have moved out of their precinct and changed their voter registration have effectively resigned. If you were a member in 2021, you may do so in advance of this meeting by clicking here. If you were not a member in 2021, if you join now, you are eligible to vote at the March meeting on the third Wednesday, and the Legislative District Caucus on March 26th. We have a 21-days in advance membership requirement for completely new members.
Please register as early as possible, so your voting credential can be generated and issued prior to the meeting. We can avoid a bottleneck as the meeting starts if you register early.
If you are moved out of district later this spring by redistricting, we will transfer your membership and dues over to your new district. We are already in communication with the surrounding districts to do so. So don’t let redistricting make you hesitate to re-up for 2022!
