Call to August 2021 Endorsement Meeting

With the Primary votes mostly tallied, the candidates who will move forward to the General election have become clear.  We have experienced some success with many endorsed candidates moving on, and some sadness for endorsed candidates who will not be on the ballot in November.

On August 18th, the members of the 46th District will meet to determine district endorsements for the 2021 General Election.

This is the official call to the August Endorsement Meeting of the 46th District Democrats.

When:  Wednesday, August 18, 7:00pm

Where:  Via Zoom

Register in advance for this meeting:

https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEldemvqD4jHtZT6cpWobWZPK-D1_6CduKU

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

You must be a member in good standing, and have been one since no later than July 28, 2021, to vote at this meeting.  Members in good standing are PCOs, dues-paid members, and members who have asked for their dues to be waived for 2021.  Under our rules, 2020 Members may renew their membership up until 5:30pm the day of the meeting.

As we expect the business of endorsements to take up the entirety of the Agenda, this will be the only item of business for the evening that is not a brief officer or committee report.

Go Vote!

Seriously?  Only 13.3% of ballots have been returned  in the 46th District with only three more days to vote?

We had a 91% turnout last November - we can do better than this.

It is NOT too late to make a really big impact - we have in-person, and GOTV from home opportunities in the next three days!

We have two targets:  Kenmore and Seattle.

If you are vaccinated and itching for some Get-Out-The-Vote activity, we would love to have you join us for an additional small door-to-door canvass packet!

If you need to stay at home, we also have a go-at-your-own-pace phone bank into Kenmore for the next three days!

The Hangar in Kenmore

6728 NE 181st St, Kenmore, WA 98028

Saturday and Sunday (you pick) packet pickup for either a doorbelling or a literature drop.  Our District Vice Chair Andrzej and yours truly (Julie Anne) will both be there if you have any district questions, as well!

Or, we have an open phone bank into Kenmore all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  If you can phone for an hour or two, please join us at this link anytime during reasonable phoning hours (10am - 8pm):

In Kenmore, we have three Northshore School District incumbent candidates who have been attacked by the right for their courageous work protecting children during the pandemic.  We need to get them through the Primary! We also have two Kenmore city councilmembers we want to promote so we are going to give Kenmore a bit more love.

Many of our PCOs and volunteers are already walking their own precincts - Thanks to everyone who has picked up a packet already!

In Seattle, we are especially concerned about our endorsed candidate Brianna Thomas for City Council Position 9!

Brianna could get squeezed out of the General Election by a tiny hair, with candidates both to the left or the right of her, and people assuming she will make it through.   We cannot let this happen!

The Brianna Thomas campaign has put together both phone banks and canvass days through election day.  Please check out the schedule for ways you can help our endorsed candidate!

Please note – please bring a mask, and please be vaccinated.  We will be doorbelling and literature dropping on porches, so we will be outside and safely distanced.

Thanks for helping us turn out Democratic voters this year and boost turnout in the Primary!

Hope you will be able to help out!
