Night Three of the 2020 Democratic National Convention
The Democratic National Convention 2020 brought laughter, joy, tears and hope last night!

From the Keynote Address shared by 17 young rising stars of the Party, to the Roll Call of the States, featuring our state's own Representative My-Linh Thai of the 41st LD, with moving testimonials of Joe Biden's leadership and decency, to Dr. Jill Biden's fabulous closing address, Day Two of our virtual convention was uplifting and hopeful.
Notable moments from Tuesday night:
“When this president goes overseas, it’s a blooper reel."
- former Secretary of State John Kerry
“I fell in love with a man and two little boys standing in the wreckage of unthinkable loss. How do you make a broken family whole?
The same way you make a nation whole: with love and understanding, and with small acts of kindness. With bravery, with unwavering faith.”
- former Second Lady Jill Biden

Night Two of the Democratic National Convention - Tuesday, 8/18
The Democratic National Convention 2020 started with grace and power last night - and continues tonight with the Keynote Address, the Roll Call of the states, and Dr. Jill Biden!
Notable moment from Monday night:
“My dad, Mark Anthony Urquiza, should be here today but he isn’t. He had faith in Donald Trump. He voted for him, listened to him, believed him and his mouthpieces when they said that coronavirus was under control and going to disappear.
My dad was a healthy 65-year-old. His only pre-existing condition was trusting Donald Trump, and for that, he paid with his life."
- Kristin Urquiza

Day Two of the 2020 Democratic National Convention
We are getting ready for Tuesday night – the second night of the Democratic National Convention - where we’ll hear from the leaders and the experts, the veterans and the activists, all those who seek to unite and not divide, and who step up — not back down — from a fight over what’s right.
We will hear from a dynamic group of speakers, including Former Acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Former Secretary of State John Kerry, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, Former President Bill Clinton, and Former Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden.
We will also enjoy the Roll Call of the States, which will be very special this year, with each delegation spokesperson coming from a beautiful vista in their home state.
And we will hear the Keynote Address, from a speaker kept under wraps until close to the address - a rising star in the Democratic party! Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have been two national convention keynote speakers in recent history.
UPDATE TUESDAY MORNING: The 2020 Keynote Address will feature 17 rising young stars from around the nation - all from their own home states.
The big show starts again at 6 PM Pacific, and you won’t want to miss all of these folks - go here for the complete schedule, all of the links you will need, and all the various meetings and events you can attend as well! https://www.demconvention.com

- Best viewing on traditional TV on Monday seemed to have been PBS and C-SPAN. MSNBC and CNN both had full coverage, but giant captions (on the Chyron), which covered some of the bottom of the screen blocked some messages that were a part of the convention stream.
Join us for a local after-party on Thursday evening!
- Make a plan to join other fabulous 46ers for lively post-convention chat on Thursday evening, immediately after the Convention pm August 20th Post-Convention Zoom Hangout 8pm Thursday 8/20
As always, feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have questions or suggestions!
We urge you to make a plan to join us for the Democratic National Convention this week!
